The City of Wayland is located off of U.S. 131 in the northeastern corner of Allegan County, Michigan.  This growing community is approximately 30 minutes south of the City of Grand Rapids, 40 minutes north of the City of Kalamazoo and 45 minutes east of Lake Michigan.

Wayland was established in 1868 and was largely a farming and lumber community. Approximately 3939 people currently reside in the City of Wayland.

City Council and Planning Commission meetings are open to the public and held at City Hall at 7:00 pm.
